When Kyria took her first belly dance classes in 1999, she knew that she had found a dance form that suited her. Through belly dancing, the dancer can show a wide range of emotions, combined with a dance technique that highlights the beauty of the body. The rich cultural background of Middle-Eastern dance and the variety of styles allow for a versatile dance vocabulary.
Kyria started taking weekly classes with Leila, which she continued for five years, combined with weekly classes from other teachers and workshops on specific subjects. Kyria firmly believes that a dancer has to work to keep her knowledge up to date, and so she takes classes and workshops on a regular basis. Kyria also followed a in-depth course of Middle-Eastern dance between 2005-2007 that covered a wide range of subjects such as different (dance) styles, dancing to live music, teaching safe techniques and music interpretation.
Kyria started performing in 2003, and began teaching weekly classes in 2006. She also teaches workshops for dance students: she loves to transfer her enthusiasm and the knowledge that she gathered through the years to her students. Her family-oriented performances are suitable for all audiences
